"Tides Turning"

“Tides Turning” brings to mind those transformational moments which become
threshold experiences. As the turning of the tide opens new dimensions in the sea,
so do we human beings have this potential effect from the ebb and flow of life.
Whether momentary happenings, or a gradual inner evolution, these can change
the day, or the whole direction of one’s life.
The programme includes:
• “The Invitation” by Oriah Mountain Dreamer, a poet living in Canada.
It exhorts us to evaluate our priorities in life, our relationships, our deeds.
• Movements one, two and three: Piano Sonata in B Flat by Franz Schubert.
• “The Return” by Peter Bruckner, a contemporary American poet.
Each year, Persephone the Maiden must return to the land of the dark Lord,
Hades. Each year, she comes forth anew bearing a new song to sing.
• Some lighthearted pieces, including “Miss Muffet” and
“the Embarrassing Episode”.
